CRE Tech Symposium: Introducing Stuart Appley, CBRE

  

Stuart Appley is a Managing Director in CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions Group.  In this role, he is responsible for providing executive technology oversight and consulting to current and potential clients in all sectors and service lines.  Stuart also has a technology innovation & thought leadership role, helping to develop, drive, and lead pilots on innovative digital projects across CBRE. Some of the projects Stuart is currently working on are focused on artificial intelligence, blockchain, IOT, and augmented reality. Stuart was recently named a Global Business Transformation Leader 150 recipient.

Stuart was previously the Chief Information Officer at Shorenstein Realty Services, a leading national Commercial Real Estate Investment and Operating company.  At Shorenstein, Stuart led the transformation of the company’s technology environment into an innovative and best in class organization, championing and leading new digital engagement opportunities, while winning Realcomm’s Digital Innovation award. He is a strong digital and cloud advocate, having instituted a ‘cloud first’ strategy at Shorenstein, while frequently speaking on the subject.  He serves on several advisory boards for emerging technology companies, industry organizations, and VC’s, and he speaks often on innovation and leveraging technology in the CRE industry.

Prior to Shorenstein, Stuart was the CIO at Walden International, a global venture capital firm, where he had worldwide responsibility for the firm’s technology needs.  Additionally, he acted as an advisor to Walden International’s portfolio companies, while also participating in the due diligence of Walden’s investments in IT related companies.  Stuart also has held senior level technology and management positions at LGT Asset Management, First Nationwide Bank, and Lomas & Nettleton Information System  Stuart has an MBA in Finance from San Francisco State University and a Bachelors in Finance from San Diego State University.
