Earlier this year, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter hosted it’s first March Madness Bracket Contest for the 2016 Sweet Sixteen, supported by the Chapter’s Special Events and Community Reinvestment committees. It cost $5.00 to play and each player selected the charity that would receive the funds raised by the contest if they won. Charities selected by the participants to receive the pool included: Rebuilding Together DC, St. Jude’s, Make A Wish, DC Food Bank, and Susan G Komen. The winner of the 2016 Bracket Contest was Molly Statler, PGAL and her selected charity: Fauquier County SPCA!
The event’s pool raised a $250 prize, and with the Chapter matching, $500 was donated to Fauquier County SPCA! Last week, Special Events Co-Chairs Steve Owens and Kim Dize presented Molly with her prize! Congratulations to Molly and all of our Bracket Contest participants, whose support facilitated this exciting donation.
